Flood Watch issued July 19 at 5:34PM AKDT until July 20 at 10:00PM AKDT by NWS Anchorage AK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...The following areas, Western Kenai Peninsula. This includes the cities of Homer, Anchor Point, Ninilchik, Clam Gulch, Kenai, Soldotna, Sterling, Nikiski, Cooper Landing, And Skilak Lake. * WHEN...Through Monday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Water levels for the Kenai and Anchor Rivers are rising and will likely remain elevated through Tuesday morning. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - 0.75" to 1.25" of rain has fallen across the Western Kenai Peninsula as of Sunday afternoon. As of 5pm, another band of moderate to heavy rain is moving north over Southern Cook Inlet. An additional 0.5" to 1.0" of rain is likely (70-80%) with a low (10-20%) of up to 1.25" of rain through Monday evening.
