Extreme Heat Warning issued June 25 at 12:58PM MST until June 25 at 8:00PM MST by NWS Tucson AZ * WHAT...Dangerously hot conditions with afternoon temperatures of 106 to 109 degrees. Localized Major Heat Risk. * WHERE...Southeast Pinal County, Tucson Metro Area, Upper Gila River Valley, and Upper San Pedro River Valley (mainly north of Benson). * WHEN...Until 8 PM MST this evening. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat events. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible, reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible and drink plenty of water.

Red Flag Warning issued June 25 at 1:03PM MST until June 28 at 8:00PM MST by NWS Tucson AZ ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM SATURDAY TO 8 PM MST SUNDAY FOR STRONG AND GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 150, 151, 152, 153, AND 154... * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 150, 151, 152, 153 and 154. * TIMING...From 10 AM Saturday to 8 PM MST Sunday. * WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts 35 to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop or are ongoing will have the potential to spread rapidly. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or are expected to develop. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and dry vegetation will create the potential for rapid and erratic fire growth. Flash Flood Warning issued June 25 at 5:27PM MST until June 25 at 7:15PM MST by NWS Tucson AZ At 527 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the Benson area. Between 1.75 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing with multiple reports of flooded streets in Benson as of 525 PM MST. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Benson. This includes the following highways... Route 90 between mile markers 290 and 293. Route 80 between mile markers 293 and 295. Interstate 10 between mile markers 302 and 309. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
