Several large wildfires developed across the region yesterday and exhibited extreme wildfire behavior. Atmospheric conditions are on track to be similar today as yesterday, and thus rapid wildfire spread will again be possible. The most concerning conditions are generally located near current wildfires, but any new wildfire development will also be capable of extreme behavior. * AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 295 Southwest Colorado Upper East Forecast Area below 9000 feet. * TIMING...From noon today to 10 PM MDT this evening. * WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...12 to 17 percent. * IMPACTS...Fires will catch and spread quickly. Exercise extreme caution with any outdoor burning. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly.
