WHERE...Douglas, Jefferson, Denver, western Arapahoe, western Adams, Broomfield, Boulder, Larimer, and Weld Counties WHEN...400 PM Wednesday June 24 to 1200 AM Thursday June 25 IMPACTS...Ozone Action Day Alert is now in effect for the Front Range Urban Corridor. Ozone concentrations in the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups category can be expected Wednesday afternoon and evening in southern and western parts of the Denver metro area, including the adjacent foothills. Ozone is expected to be lower and within the Good to Moderate range on Thursday due to cooler temperatures and afternoon thunderstorms. Brief gusts up to 40 mph possible in the vicinity of any thunderstorms. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 11 percent. * THUNDERSTORMS...Isolated dry thunderstorms possible in the afternoon and evening. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
