Verdigris River at Coffeyville affecting Montgomery County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Verdigris River at Independence. * WHEN...From this afternoon to early Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 36.0 feet, Some flooding of low lying areas and bottom land can be expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 AM CDT Friday the stage was 24.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this afternoon to a crest of 35.5 feet just after midnight tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon. - Flood stage is 30.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away.
