Flood Advisory issued June 23 at 5:47PM CDT until June 23 at 11:00PM CDT by NWS Springfield MO * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following counties, Cherokee and Crawford and southwest Missouri, including the following counties, Barton, Jasper, Lawrence and Newton. * WHEN...Until 1100 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 547 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - This includes the following low water crossings... Dry Fork at Pine Road, Center Creek at Dogwood Road, Fidelity Branch at County Road 130 and Center Creek at Azalea Drive. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Pittsburg, Carthage, Columbus, Oronogo, Granby, Carterville, Sarcoxie, Cherokee, Weir, Alba, Scammon, Purcell, Mccune, West Mineral, Sherman, Chicopee, Carytown, Fidelity, Asbury, Newtonia, Neck City, Wentworth, Avilla, La Russell, Brooklyn Heights, Reeds, Waco, Ritchey, Roseland, Lawton, Opolis, Skidmore, Stippville, Carona and Beulah. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
