Flood Watch issued July 12 at 2:39PM EDT until July 13 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Jackson KY * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall will be possible. * WHERE...Portions of east central, northeast, south central, and southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, in east central Kentucky, Bath, Elliott, Estill, Fleming, Menifee, Montgomery, Powell and Rowan. In northeast Kentucky, Johnson and Martin. In south central Kentucky, Laurel, McCreary, Pulaski, Rockcastle, Wayne and Whitley. In southeast Kentucky, Bell, Breathitt, Clay, Floyd, Harlan, Jackson, Knott, Knox, Lee, Leslie, Letcher, Magoffin, Morgan, Owsley, Perry, Pike and Wolfe. * WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT Monday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Repeated rounds of showers and thunderstorms producing locally heavy rainfall are expected through the this evening. Already wet soils in some areas will make these locations more susceptible to flooding. Monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Flash Flood Warning issued July 12 at 5:25PM EDT until July 12 at 7:45PM EDT by NWS Jackson KY At 525 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated showers and thunderstorms were weakening across the area; however excessive runoff from previous heavy rainfall will continue to cause flash flooding in low lying areas. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Coal Run Village, Meta, Zebulon and Gulnare. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.

Flood Advisory issued July 12 at 6:09PM EDT until July 12 at 7:15PM EDT by NWS Jackson KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, Floyd and Pike. * WHEN...Until 715 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 606 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that the heaviest rain had ended; however, light to moderate rainfall will continue through 6:45 PM. Excessive runoff from previous heavy rainfall will continue to cause minor flooding in low lying areas. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen since 4 PM. - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Prestonsburg, Coal Run Village, Martin, Allen, Meta, Zebulon, Kimper, Gulnare, Mcandrews, Betsy Layne, Justell, Ivel, Dana, Banner, Alvin, Emma, Coleman, Allen City, Dwale and Arkansas. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
