Flood Watch issued April 29 at 1:27AM CDT until April 29 at 12:00PM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Louisiana, including the following parishes, Bienville, Caldwell, De Soto, Grant, Jackson, La Salle, Lincoln, Natchitoches, Ouachita, Red River, Sabine, Union and Winn and east Texas, including the following counties, Angelina, Nacogdoches, Sabine, San Augustine and Shelby. * WHEN...Until noon CDT today. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Periods of showers and thunderstorms, some of which may contain locally heavy rainfall, will continue this morning across portions of Deep East Texas and much of North Louisiana. Widespread rainfall amounts of two to four inches have fallen since Sunday evening across much of the Watch area, with additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches possible through 12 PM today. Since grounds are already saturated, this additional rainfall will run off and may cause flash flooding. - Http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flash Flood Warning issued April 29 at 2:46AM CDT until April 29 at 3:00AM CDT by NWS Shreveport LA At 246 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen since Sunday evening. The heavier rains are ending across the warned area, although periods of light rain with a few embedded thunderstorms will continue for the next couple of hours. As long as rain rates do not increase, then the Flash Flood Warning will be allowed to expire at 3 AM. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Mansfield, Arcadia, Coushatta, Logansport, Ringgold, Sibley, Gibsland, Doyline, Dubberly, Heflin, Martin, South Mansfield, Hall Summit, Saline, Lucky, Castor, Edgefield, Bienville, Jamestown and Bryceland. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the National Weather Service when you can do so safely.
