For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions with heat index values up to 109 expected. * WHERE...Portions of north central, northwest, and west central Minnesota and northeast and southeast North Dakota. * WHEN...For the Heat Advisory, until 9 PM CDT this evening. For the Extreme Heat Warning, from 8 AM Sunday to 1 AM CDT Tuesday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Overnight relief Sunday night into Monday morning will be minimal, with overnight low temperatures remaining in the mid to upper 70s along with high humidity. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1. If you do not have air conditioning in your home or lack shelter, you can call 211 for assistance locating appropriate shelter from the heat.

Fire Weather Watch issued July 11 at 3:33PM CDT until July 13 at 9:00PM CDT by NWS Grand Forks ND The National Weather Service in Grand Forks has issued a Fire Weather Watch for hot temperatures, breezy winds and low relative humidity, which is in effect from Sunday afternoon through Monday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...In Minnesota, Roseau, Lake Of The Woods, East Marshall, North Beltrami, North Clearwater, South Beltrami, South Clearwater and Hubbard. * WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 30 percent. * IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly and become difficult to control. Outdoor burning is not recommended. A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red Flag Warnings.
