Flood Watch issued July 2 at 8:07AM CDT until July 2 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS La Crosse WI .5 to 8 inches of rain fell across portions of southeast Minnesota overnight which led to flooding over roadways and road closures. An additional 1 to 3 inches, locally up to 5 inches, is possible after 8 AM CDT today which could lead to additional flooding impacts, especially over areas that saw the highest rainfall totals overnight. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Minnesota, including the following counties, Fillmore, Houston, Mower, Olmsted and Winona. * WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional rainfall is expected throughout the day over areas that saw 5 to 8 inches of rain overnight. - Southeast Minnesota - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Southern Houston County in southeastern Minnesota... * Until 215 PM CDT. * At 922 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms produced heavy rain across the warned area. Between 5 and 7.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area over the next several hours. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
