For the Heat Advisory, from 8 PM this evening to 8 PM CDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Special Weather Statement issued July 3 at 2:31PM CDT by NWS Nashville TN At 231 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 9 miles east of Waynesboro to 7 miles east of Walnut Grove. Movement was north at 5 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Waynesboro, Collinwood, Cypress Inn, and Lutts. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
