Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Recent heavy rainfall has caused saturated soils, which will increase the risk of flash flooding as additional rainfall moves in. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 600 PM CDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is already occurring in the warned area. Between 4 and 9 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Huntsville, Madison, Scottsboro, Guntersville, Fayetteville, Rainsville, Bridgeport, Moores Mill, Meridianville, Redstone Arsenal, Hazel Green, Henagar, Stevenson, Sylvania, Cowan, Owens Cross Roads, Fyffe, Hollywood, Powell and Grant. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
