Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 18 at 3:13PM EDT until June 18 at 3:30PM EDT by NWS Albany NY At 312 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 6 miles north of Townshend to near Readsboro to near New Ashford, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Pittsfield, North Adams, Brattleboro, Bellows Falls, Townshend, Adams, Williamstown, Cheshire, Stephentown, Putney, Vernon, Wilmington, Stamford, Readsboro, Florida, Hancock, Savoy, Saxtons River, Westminster, and New Ashford. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 500 PM EDT for western Massachusetts...and southern Vermont. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
