Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 4 at 2:37PM EDT until July 4 at 3:00PM EDT by NWS Charleston WV At 236 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Stonewood, or 8 miles south of Clarksburg, moving northeast at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Clarksburg, Bridgeport, Stonewood, Nutter Fort, Anmoore, West Milford, Lost Creek, Jane Lew, and Despard. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
